Several Camellia Societies hold shows in Southern California. Shows are held in the cities of La Canada, San Marino, Bakersfield, Balboa Park, Corona Del Mar, and LaVerne.
The Society holds its shows at the Descanso Gardens, and at the Huntington Gardens, in La Canada and San Marino, respectively. To see results of past shows, click here.

Typically, the show season starts during the second week of January and runs through mid-March, with a show most every weekend.
The shows are a great opportunity to see the “latest and greatest” in the world of camellias, and decide on the plants you want in your garden. You may even wish to compete, and many shows provide a novice class for those new to the hobby.
Competitors generally must place their blooms before 10:00am on the first day of the show. If you would like to show one of your camellias for the first time, we welcome you. It's best to arrive with time to spare, so one of our members can assist you in placing your bloom. The shows open for public viewing at approximately 1:00pm or on completion of judging. The show is not open to the public during judging.
